Enhance Your Business Skills with the SBA’s Shorts Courses

Barbadian employers, employees and anyone desirous of enhancing their business skills or improving their marketability, have several opportunities to do so through the Small Business Association. The association continues to offer a range of courses designed specifically for persons interested in starting their own businesses or who already have small businesses.

Programme Manager of the SBA, Andrea C. Taylor, stated that with the number of unemployed persons, there was the opportunity for these individuals to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option. She added that now was the time was ripe to embrace the development of niche markets in services such as technology and manufacturing to fuel economic growth. “Through this affordable training, the SBA provides the opportunity for persons to develop their ideas, whether they are small operators or simply looking to start a small business. From October, we will continue our usual suite of courses including QuickBooks (basic & intermediate), Supervisory Management & Team Building, Maximising Social Media for Small Business and Marketing for Small Enterprises.”

The courses are specific to persons desirous of converting their ideas to viable businesses, and existing entrepreneurs who need to take their operations to a higher level of development with minimum cost. From October 2016, the SBA will be offering QuickBooks Basic, QuickBooks Intermediate and Supervisory Management and Team Building over a six-week period for each.
